hello, I'm Christina
Welcome to Cookingwithchow. This has been a long-time dream of mine. I can distinctly remember when I was five and I was sitting on the sofa across the kitchen – watching my mother spend hours cooking for my family. She prepared 10 plates that night for Chinese New Year by herself! I was always in awe of her passion for cooking and the amazing foods that she would make. Since then, I dreamed that I would also be able to cook for my family and friends with the same love and passion as my mother.
Food for me was not just about satisfying hunger – it is about the experience that is created while eating it! This wonderful experience is the glue that brings and holds people together while also helping to create long-lasting memories. Food can be that vessel that helps to transcend language barriers and cultures – to help befriend strangers in a foreign land. Food ultimately serves as a conduit for human connection.

For me, food is a representation of who I am and the way I cook is influenced by the impacts to my life while growing up. Cooking is my own creative outlook. It is a representation of the past, present, and future. The food from my past is indicative of my history growing up in an Asian cultural background. The present is an illustration of who I currently am and my current abilities. The future projects the type of cook that I aspire to be. Food is the foundation for my journey that allows me to reflect on myself as I evolve alongside my passion for cooking.
I welcome you to join me on this journey.
