Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crepe Cake

Brown sugar boba mille crepe cake? Say what? This idea came about when I was eating a mille crepe cake while enjoying a brown sugar boba tea. I thought to myself, why not both? So I took my favourite mille crepe cake recipe and added my favourite brown sugar boba tea recipe to create… *magic*.  What is a Boba Mille Crepe Cake? A mille crepe cake is a French cake made of multiple layers. The word “mille”  means “a thousand”, so it is implying the many layers of the cake. The cake is formed by layering individual layers of crepe with cream continuously until it’s formed. It’s then set in…

Taiwanese Tapioca Ball Dessert | Sweet Potato and Ube Balls

The first time I had this was in Jiufen, Taiwan and I fell absolutely in love with the chewiness and texture with the tapioca balls. Traditionally they are made with taro but I love ube and sweet potato so that is what I’ve recreated it with. This bowl also highlights nodes of Cantonese cuisine in it with the coconut milk sago inspired by my other love- taro sago dessert (recipe on the blog). Basically it’s a big bowl of all my inspirations and things that I love: Chewy Ube & Sweet Potato balls, refreshing Grass Jelly, sweet Red Bean, rich Ginger infused Coconut Milk with Sago, fresh Mango, and a…

    Classic Apple Pie

Right as the weather drops below 10 C and a leaf falls onto the ground you can best believe that my kitchen will be smelling like a pie shop. I will find any excuse to make an apple pie because some of the fondest memories I had with my family was sharing an apple pie with some fresh vanilla icecream. Where to even start than ask why have I never posted an apple pie recipe before? The reason for that is because I was never satisfied with my apple pie recipes so I’ve tested and tweaked so many apple pie recipes that I have finally figured out the best way…

    Delicious Blackberry Galette

Galettes have become my new found favourite baked good to make! They are super easy to make and they always taste delicious- I mean sweetened fruit under a buttery flakey crust? What’s not to love! What is a Galette? A galette is basically an open-faced pie or an easier version of a pie (in my opinion). There’s no need to create a lattice or make a 2nd crust- it also basically tastes the exact same as a pie! I use my all time favourite pie dough recipe found below as a base and then I fill it with whatever fresh fruits I have at home. Typically either peaches, apples, or…

Looking for a GF Carrot Cake Cupcakes? Look no further! I must caution you, these cupcakes are SUPER addicting! They are so light and airy, and SOO moist. Honestly this is probably the most moist cupcake I’ve ever made in my life. I’ve tested this recipe 3 times, and each time has been fail-proof so I promise you these will be a success! And don’t even get me started on the cream cheese frosting- it is delicious! A secret I use? Lemon juice, I find that it adds that nice acidity to help balance out the sweetness and creaminess. Now consider yourselves warned ;).  Author: Cookingwithchow Course: Sweets Servings: 12…
