Chinese Beef Brisket | Instant Pot

Whenever I visit Hong Kong style cafes, I will always order this dish with “ho fan” noodles. This dish incorporates the most amazing flavours from the savoury beef to the incredible crunch of the daikon and carrot. All tied in together with the most amazing aroma of star anise, Chinese five spice, and lemongrass.  Traditional Cantonese beef brisket has no lemongrass, but recently I tried this and I absolutely LOVED it! If you want to stick to the traditional route, you are more than welcome to take this out. This dish still tastes delicious without it. You can then pair this dish with either noodles or a nice bowl of…

Almost everything here is a pantry staple so a perfect recipe during this quarantine time! A trick I use for creamy pastas is to always add in 1 tsp of lemon juice, it adds a nice touch of acidity and helps balance out the creaminess. Delicious! Simple Tomato Pasta Sauce

Last summer I travelled to Italy with one of my closest friends, we were in Florence at the time staying in an AirBnB. One night, we decided that for dinner we were going to make pasta. We went to the grocery store and grabbed all of the necessary ingredients for the dish, and then went home and started to prepare it. About ten minutes into the preparation, this elderly Italian man came into the kitchen and actually told us that we were preparing it all wrong! It turns out that he was actually the owner of the house and started to show us how to cook authentic Italian tomato pasta sauce.…

    Sweet Potato Gnocchi

I had potato gnocchi this past weekend and I was in awe! The texture and chewiness of it was incredible. I thought to myself, what if I tried this with sweet potato? And VIOLA… introducing sweet potato gnocchi! When I told my older sister Leanne I was going to attempt to make gnocchi and her response to me was, “You know they sell it at the supermarket for 2$ right?”. To that I said, “So? I want to know how to make it to truly appreciate it!!!”. And that’s how the gnocchi journey began. This recipe is delicious but is definitely labour intensive, so grab a team to help you…
